Giving Back To The Community
Free To Be Me is an event that allows chronic or critical ill kids enjoy a fun filled day with airplane rides, face painting, and plenty of other activities.
The event, founded by SCI’s owner, Mike Roberson, allows the kids and their whole family create happy memories, having fun outside, both on the ground and up in the air. They get a chance to temporarily forget about the daily struggles of battling sickness.
Many of the children who participate at the Free To Be Me events are receiving treatment at Vidant Medical Center and are affiliated with organizations such as Riley’s Army, the Dream Factory of Eastern Carolina, or Beau’s Buddies Cancer Fund.
